Many have fallen astray because greed and wanting too much worldly possessions and achievements. Though there is nothing wrong to appreciate things, yet Christians are warned to be on guard against all kinds of greed for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions (Luke 12:15). The devil took JESUS to a very high mountain and offered HIM all the splendor the world had to offer yet JESUS replied: "Away from me Satan! For it is written: "Worship the LORD your GOD and serve HIM only." (Matthew 4:8-10). Demas, one of Paul's workers had deserted him because he loved the world (2 Timothy 4:10).
