Suriving A Crisis
It is hard to juggle priorities especially when an individual or family is faced with a difficult crisis. All our capabilities are restricted when there is a crisis. However, man can definitely survive living on the basics alone. Basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter must come first before anything else that are most likely unimportant because life is more important than (the choice of) food and the body more than clothes (Luke 12:23). The story of Elijah seems to be "exaggerated" during these modern times but still very much applicable. Elijah went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there as the LORD had told him. There ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook (1 Kings 17:1-6).
