Being Prudent

A budget is an amount set aside for actual use or spending. It is also knowing that resources are limited and scarce. Though many of us want to live on a budget, many still fail meeting it. Unnecessary expenses rise because of unnecessary demands that we tend to live beyond what we can afford and reasonably consume. Such action is unwise. The prophet Elisha instructed the widow to fill all the jars with olive oil. After all the jars have been filled up, he instructed her to sell them and use the money to pay off her husband's debts. The money that was left was enough for her and her sons to live (2 Kings 4:1-7). Let's all strive hard to live prudently for every prudent man acts out of knowledge, but a fool exposes his folly (Proverbs 13:16).
