Mary Magdalene was not only an adulterous woman but she was also a prostitute, a sin grave enough that was punishable by death! But throughout history, no one understood the gravity of JESUS' mercy and compassion as Mary Magdalene did. She truly loved JESUS and was with HIM all the way to HIS death on the cross while the rest of HIS disciples cowardly abandoned HIM (Matthew 27:55-56). Even her relationship with JESUS was criticized by HIS own disciples (Matthew 26:6-13)! It was Mary Magdalene together with other women who bravely sat by the tomb side of JESUS (Matthew 27:61) when no one else dared to do. Because of her great faith and love for the person who forgave her grave sins, she was the first person, not HIS disciples, to witness HIS resurrection (John 21:14-18). Yet when she broke the news to the apostles, they wouldn't believe her (Luke 24:11)! Only a sincerely grateful person like Mary Magdalene whose grave sins have been totally forgiven will do everything for the love of JESUS, the MAN who forgave her sins! How far can we go to express our love to the PERSON who truly forgave our sins and died for us?
