Our very last words will always reveal how we made use of our lives and how we treated others! The Apostle Paul remained confident towards the end of his mission as he faced his imminent death (2 timothy 4:6-7). The seven last words of JESUS also reflected HIS compassionate, forgiving and obedient heart all the way to the cross. Despite HIS painful and tormenting condition, HE asked the FATHER to forgive HIS tormentors (Luke 23:34); HE still had the authority to save people (Luke 23:43); HE never forgot HIS parents and still cared for those who were dependent on HIM by entrusting HIS mother to John (John 19:26-27); HE had become thirsty to prove to the world HE was indeed human after all (Mark 15:34). Though HE felt totally abandoned by HIS FATHER (Matthew 27:46), HE remained faithful and fully dependent on GOD until HE died by committing HIS Spirit to the FATHER (Luke 23:46). Death is lurking and could strike us anytime. Are we prepared? What will our last words be? Are we confident and prepared to meet GOD?
