Material and financial prosperity is what we all desire. In fact, we find them being propagated everywhere from books to institutions including some churches. Though we can't deny that we all want to become wealthy, we need to excercise the virtue of temperance and strive to live simple and modest lives. As the Apostle Paul says though everything is permissible, not everything is beneficial (1 Corinthians 10:23). We must be all aware that our abilitiy to possess things are limited. The writer of Ecclesiastes says that he denied myself his eyes desired and refused no pleasure yet when he examined all what he had done and achieved, he gained nothing (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11). Let our hearts desire for love, peace and joy instead of earthly pleasures for CHRIST came that we may all live life to the full (John 10:10).
