Though the GOSPEL is for everyone, not all will listen to it. To others, it's simply "bad news" yet the consequences are both eternal to the obedient and the disobedient. Sadly, many of us prefer to listen to the things we want to hear and shun the truth of the GOSPEL and its sobering revelations. The bible is there to remind us of the things to come and bessed are those who read, hear and take heart of the things that are written because the time is drawing near (Revelation 1:3). King Ahab had in his disposal four hundred prophets who were all ready to tell him what he wanted to hear except for Micaiah who was the only one who told the truth (2 Kings 22:6-8). Micaiah's "words of doom" were unacceptable to King Ahab and to the other prophets that he was thrown into prison for prophesying the truth. King Ahab was eventually killed and his kingdom defeated for not heeding Micaiah's truthful warning (1 Kings 22:14-35).
