Because GOD is love (1 John 4:8), we are therefore commanded that we love one another as JESUS loved us (John 13:34). We are even commanded to love and pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:44) which is so difficult to do but we have to be reminded that GOD demonstrated HIS own love for us while we were still HIS enemies (Romans 5:7-8) by sending HIS one and only begotten SON (John 3:16). Though we may do great deeds, yet have not loved, we have indeed gained nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). Love is indeed the greatest (1 Corinthians 13:13).
